It really works as described. Usually nothing is as good as advertised, but this is. I am very funny about the grill being very clean before I would use it, I would take the grate off and use soap and water. I do add the lemon juice to help it clean.

Gets the gunk but leaves a film

I hate to clean the grill, but hate to cook on a dirty grill even more. So I was eager to try the Grate Chef Steaming Grill Brush. It works basically as advertised, brushing and steaming away the visible gunk. (I tried it with and without the lemon juice, which seems to make it work a bit better.) But because the brush itself becomes grimy, the rack is left with a dirty film, which I found the next time I went to use the grill. A wet paper towel got most of the grime off, at least enough for me to be comfortable. I'll be trying to come up with a better solution to that. But I will continue to use the Brush, because it gets the bulk of the junk off very quickly.

We just purchased a new grill that has porcelain grill plates. We were looking for a way to clean it easily without harming the porcelain finish. We saw this product advertised and promoted in a magazine and decided to give it a try. We're glad we did - it works great!
